WHEN TO VISIT?

There are two main seasons in the crater – the dry season and the wet season. The dry season from June to October is generally the most popular time to visit the Crater. November to May is the wet season and this includes the short rains (November and December) and the long rains (March to May). During the short rains, rain typically falls during the evening and it is highly unlikely it will impact your safari.

GETTING THERE

Upon arrival in Arusha, reaching the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is easily achievable by road, typically taking approximately 3 and a half hours. Alternatively, there are several airstrips within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, providing convenient access for visitors who prefer air travel.
