Itinerary
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide, who will assist you with your luggage and escort you to your vehicle for the drive to Moivaro Lodge in Arusha. The drive typically takes about an hour and gives you your first glimpses of the local villages and stunning landscapes framed by Mount Meru.
When you arrive at Moivaro Lodge, take a moment to relax and absorb the tranquil surroundings. Nestled in lush gardens, the lodge offers a peaceful retreat, ideal for recovering from your long international flight. After checking in, take a leisurely walk around the property or unwind by the pool.
In the evening, savor a delightful dinner at the lodge’s restaurant, where you can choose from a selection of Tanzanian and international dishes. Enjoy pleasant company and share your excitement about the days to come. Your first night in Tanzania will be spent in comfort, preparing you for the adventures ahead.
Dinner and Overnight at Moivaro Lodge, Arusha
Following an early breakfast at the lodge, your guide will pick you up and embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park. Known for its large herds of elephants and picturesque acacia trees, Tarangire is a perfect introduction to the wonders of Tanzanian wildlife. The drive, filled with scenic views and local life, will
take approximately two hours.
Upon arrival in Tarangire, prepare for an exhilarating game drive. The park's diverse ecosystem offers opportunities to spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and various bird species. Be sure to look out for the magnificent elephants, often found near the Tarangire River, and witness their interaction in this magnificent landscape.
As your day winds down, head to the Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge for your overnight stay. This charming lodge is steeped in coffee history and offers stunning views of the coffee plantations. Settle into your comfortable accommodations, and in the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner made from fresh, local ingredients, allowing you to experience the flavors of Tanzania.
Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge
On the morning of day 3, enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing for the illustrious Ngorongoro Crater. Known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this magnificent caldera is home to a plethora of wildlife in a relatively compact area, making it ideal for game viewing.
Once you descend into the crater, prepare for an unforgettable day of wildlife observation. The crater is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, and within its lush grasslands, you may encounter lions, rhinos, buffaloes, and elephants. The variety and density of wildlife here can be staggering, providing numerous opportunities for incredible photographs.
After a full day of exploration, make your way to Friends Camp in Serengeti Central for your overnight accommodation. This camp offers comfort amidst the wild, and after you check in, relax and enjoy a sumptuous dinner while listening to the sounds of the Serengeti come alive at night. Share stories of the day’s adventures around the campfire before retiring to your cozy tent.
Dinner and Overnight at Friends Camp, Serengeti
On the morning of day 4, enjoy breakfast in camp before departing on another exciting game drive in Serengeti Central. As the sun rises, the wildlife awakens, offering an amazing array of sights as predators stalk their territories and herbivores graze in the early light.
Depending on the timing of your safari, this is an excellent time to witness the Great Migration. As thousands of wildebeests and zebras move across the plains, you will have the chance to see the breathtaking sights of this natural phenomenon. Experienced guides will help you navigate the park and share insights into animal behaviors and the intricacies of the ecosystem.
After exploring Serengeti Central, you’ll head north to Savannah Camp, where you will spend the next two nights. This camp boasts well-appointed tents and incredible views, making it a great base for further exploration. After settling in, enjoy a delicious dinner and discuss the wildlife encounters from the previous days.
On Day 5, dive deeper into the Serengeti’s wildlife and landscapes. Spend your days on game drives, perhaps starting with a sunrise drive, and explore different areas in search of the animals. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the famed river crossings, where wildebeests brave the waters to reach greener pastures. The evenings at Savannah Camp are serene, allowing you to reflect on the majestic sights and sounds of the bush.

On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Savannah Camp, taking a moment to appreciate the beauty surrounding you. Depending on your flight schedule, you might have a chance for one last game drive or a short morning activity before heading to Kogatende Airstrip for your return flight to Arusha.
The flight will provide breathtaking aerial views of the Serengeti and the vast landscapes that make up this stunning region. Upon landing in Arusha, your guide will greet you and assist with any onward travel or arrangements you may need.
